The Official Story of United Flight 93On 9/11, 2001 United Flight 93 was hijacked somewhere near Cleveland, Ohio. The hijackers turned the plane around and set a course for Washington, D.C., apparently with the intention of crashing the plane into either the Capitol Building or the White House. Just before 10:00 am, the passengers on Flight 93 voted on whether to attempt to re-take the plane from the hijackers. At approximately 10:00 am, the passengers of Flight 93 were attempting a counter-attack against the hijackers of Flight 93. At approximately 10:02 am, the passenger rebellion caused Flight 93 to crash nose-first into an empty field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, a small rural community about an hour south east of Pittsburgh.
At least this is what the 9/11 Commission Report says happened to Flight 93. But is this the true story of United Flight 93?
So What is the Truth About Flight 93
There has been much speculation that the official story of Flight 93 doesn't tell the WHOLE story. The 9/11 Commission Report spends only four pages out of their 567 page report discussing Flight 93. There were rumors circulating on 9/11/01 that Flight 93 was shot down by jets scrambled in response to the hijackings. In fact, the rumors about the possible shoot-down of Flight 93 were so rampant that the 9/11 Commission felt the need to address these rumors in their report. The 9/11 Commission concluded that the rumors of the shoot down were false.
However, the rumors persist.
Why? Because there were many oddities surrounding Flight 93 that have caused people to wonder if the official story of Flight 93 is actually the true story. A small sampling of these oddities include:
*Reports by the Mayor of Cleveland that Flight 93 landed in Cleveland,
*Debris being found 8 miles from the crash site,
*A call to Westmoreland County 911 from a passenger on Flight 93 who claimed there was smoke in the plane just before it crashed,
*The almost total lack of visible debris at the crater where the plane is said to have crashed, and
*Eye-witnesses who reported seeing military planes in the area immediately before and after the crash.
So what's the truth about Flight 93? Maybe nobody will ever know for sure. But one thing is almost certain -the official story of Flight 93 has left more questions than answers.
