One of the more interesting things about the "conspiracy theories" phenomenon and 9/11 is the abundance of misinformation, and just plain ill-informed people that distract attention from the legitimate issues. Not only does the misinformation distract from possibly important issues, but some of the more bizarre theories that have no basis in science or fact create the "nutcase" conspiracy theorist persona that is repeatedly used to discredit *ALL* questioning of the official story.
A perfect example of this is the incessant rantings about fire not melting steel, and that no steel building ever collapsed from a fire. This theory reminds me of a religion in which the entirity of its substance is based on blind faith, not reality.
Here are the facts, like them or not:
1) Steel does not have to melt to cause structural failure. In fact, steel doesn't even have to be heated to bend. Weight can bend steel beams. A strong enough force can even break a steel beam in half with NO fires.
150,000 pound planes traveling at over 400 m.p.h. hit WTC1 and WTC2.
